Unique Wear Components for Metso Ersmark's Mill Linings
Everything originated from a square piece of steel.
"The collaboration began when we developed our Polymet solution," explains Ulf. Proplate supplies components for Metso Ersmark's most important product – mill linings for the mining industry.
"Proplate cuts, processes, and welds the steel components that we later coat with rubber. These linings are wear parts used in mining mills worldwide."
Ulf Åström emphasizes how important it is to have a supplier who is familiar with the production process and conditions.
"It's necessary for effective collaboration. The fact that everyone at Proplate who works with Metso has visited the facility in Ersmark is highly significant. It has created engagement and understanding at all levels," says Ulf.
"This makes our communication both easier and more personal. It becomes simple to pick up the phone and talk directly with the relevant person."
High Engagement Creates an Efficient Process
When suppliers know and understand their customers, it affects both quality and price. The process becomes efficient.
"Proplate knows what to do. And they have what we need," says Ulf. The respect is mutual.
Johan Svensson at Proplate explains the value of strong relationships:
"For us, it's crucial that commitment exists at all levels. We genuinely care and want to be involved from the beginning. That's when we can influence the product and perform together with the customer."
